The City of Santa Ana has allocated $5,514,747 to the SAVES (Santa Ana Vital Eviction Solution) Program for Homelessness Prevention and $250,000 to the Public Law Center for an Eviction Defense Fund for Santa Ana residents unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The SAVES Program provides assistance including rental arrears, rental assistance, rental application fees, security deposits, utility deposits and payments, moving costs, housing search and placement, housing stability case management, mediation services and credit repair. The Eviction Defense fund provides legal assistance to SAVES Program participants in need of legal services.
Eligible households for SAVES Program and Eviction Defense Fund assistance include renter households that meet the following criteria:

1.    Santa Ana resident
2.    Has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19
3.    Has been notified in writing that their right to occupy their current housing will be terminated (examples include an eviction notice, a
       copy of a notification asking you to move out by email or text message, a handwritten or typed notification)
4.    The following declaration applies, “if evicted, I would likely become homeless, need to move into a homeless shelter, or need to
       move into a new residence shared by other people who live in close quarters because I have no other available housing options.”
5.    Has a household income no greater than 50% AMI according to family size indicated in the table below:
